Cecilia Cristea, Ph.D., is a full professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she also directs the Department of Pharmacy I. As the leader of the Bioelectrochemistry and Biosensors Research Group, she spearheads innovative research that combines scientific rigor with real-world applications. With extensive training from leading laboratories in France, Canada, Italy, Germany, and the USA, Dr. Cristea’s expertise lies in developing cutting-edge molecular materials for electrochemical sensing devices aimed at detecting biologically relevant molecules. Her work also encompasses the design of novel (bio)sensors and biomimetic strategies for vital sectors such as biomedicine, pharmaceuticals, food safety, and environmental monitoring. Dr. Cristea’s impactful research is highlighted in over 180 publications, including numerous book chapters, with more than 4,500 citations, with an H-index of 38.
